In 1992, Custom House Designs opened its doors in Columbia, SC. For 23 years, Lang Smith (owner) enjoyed great success in designing premier residential and vacation homes in South Carolina, Georgia, & North Carolina.
In 2015, Lang joined the collaborative team at Mills Group in Morgantown, WV as the Director of Residential Design. Through continued practice, he shared his design philosophies in residential design with eager upcoming architects and designers. Lang lead and collaborated with other team members in creating high performance, sustainable and well-crafted homes for clients. In late 2016, Lang followed his wife to Boise, Idaho where he has worked remotely for both the Mills Group and individual clients in South Carolina. He's enjoyed exploring the beautiful Idaho landscape and if you can't find him working on a set of plans, you can either find him hiking in the mountains, fishing on a river or swinging a golf club. |
